The CEO and Group Executive Committee

The President and CEO is responsible for managing Swedbank’s day to day operations in accordance with external regulations and within the framework set by the Board of Directors. The CEO represents the bank externally on various matters, leads the work of the Group Executive Committee and makes decisions after consulting its members.

The Group Executive Committee comprises of:

  • the President and CEO of Swedbank
  • the CFO, Group Chief Financial Officer
  • the CRO, Group Chief Risk Officer
  • the Head of Corporate Affairs
  • the Head of Group HR
  • the Chief Legal officer
  • the Head of Retail
  • the Head of Baltic Banking
  • the Head of Large Corporates & Institutions
  • the Head of Group Business Support
10 members in total. 
 
The Head of Asset Management and the Head of Group Compliance are co-opted members of the Group Executive Committee. The Group Executive Committee normally meets every two weeks.   
 

The CEO has established Senior Management Forum as a discussion forum to ensure implementation of strategy and co-ordination across the Group. The SMF is not a decision making body, and the CEO will, from time to time, review and revise the composition of SMF, taking into account the need for an adequate combination of skills and knowledge. Commonly, business area heads and regional heads are represented.
