Working for sustainable development is part of our responsibility as a bank.
- Our role in society is to promote a healthy, sustainable economy for the many people and businesses. With roots in the Savings banks tradition, Swedbank has a strong tradition of taking societal responsibility. Long-term solutions are inherent in our financial solutions, in our client relationships, in our participation in society and in our concern for the environment. We work together in particular with the World Wildlife Fund to help shape the environment for the better. Earth Hour is an excellent way for us to demonstrate our commitment to climate change, says Michael Wolf.
Swedbank has a comprehensive environmental work. In this work climate issues play an important role. The Bank's environmental targets state what Swedbank will do to reduce environmental impact, such as impact on the climate. For employees, it can mean to travel less in order to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and to act energy-smart in the every day work.
Guide customers
- Our customers are aware that we must act together to develop our society in a more sustainable direction. They expect us to take responsibility for the environment and other social issues. We are very responsive to our customers' needs and act upon them. Therefore, we want to make it possible for our customers to make active choices for their economy and the environment, we do so by offering products and services with a concrete sustainability profile. One example is the WWF-card. An affinity card where the bank sets aside SEK 0.5 to WWF for every purcase a cstomer do using their WWF-card.
Creating sustainable business
- The recent challenges has reminded us that sustainability must be rewarded. We want to be part of tomorrow's society and we have a far-reaching social responsibility as a financial institution. Therefore, we work strategically to support sustainable economic development and build a sustainable business, says Michael Wolf.
