Swedbank is our brand and common representative across business areas and markets. Our brand is an important asset that is relevant in relation to all our stakeholders.
Our ambition is to build a leading service brand, that is easy to do business with. This is how we wish our brand to be perceived in relation to others on the market. This ambition is also a reflec-tion of our mission, vision and values.
Being a service leader means that we shall offer high-quality products with accessible, proactive and uncomplicated service to all our customers, on all markets. When people come in contact with our brand, we want them to find that it is easy to do busi-ness with Swedbank. Products should be easy to use, it should be easy to get in contact with us, to interact with us and to under-stand the value of the products and services we provide.
Our roots date back to the year 1820, when the first Swedish sav-ings bank was founded in Gothenburg. In our development from a regional bank to becoming national and finally international, we have kept our local commitments and will keep on doing so. In be-coming a leading, international financial institution, we draw strength from our heritage. Our background gives us credibility in our claims to be a bank for each and every one and a financial institution that truly cares about our customers.
Today, we operate under the Swedbank and Hansabank names in the Swedish and Baltic retail markets respectively. In the autumn of 2008, the Hansabank brand in the Baltic countries will be changed to Swedbank.
