Policy on Environmental impact

This policy describes and establishes the basic and common view within Swedbank Group on the Environmental impact, Swedbank Group's responsibility for the impact of its decisions and activities on the environment and the Swedbank Group's management of such issues. This policy shall apply throughout Swedbank Group.

Swedbank Group's environmental work is part of its effort to contribute to a sustainable society while building sustainable profitability and a strong brand. Swedbank Group is aware of global environmental issues and its opportunities to directly and indirectly impact them.
Based on the foregoing idea, operations related to this policy are to be characterised by the following basic principles:

  • conduct its business in a way that considers opportunities and risks from an environmental perspective,

  • work closely with customers and other stakeholders on environmental issues,

  • comply in all its operations with current laws and regulations and promote positive development in this area,

  • strive in all its operations to reduce and prevent pollutants,

  • conduct internal environmental work that leads to continuous improvements,

  • utilize its employees' commitment and awareness.
