Baltic Banking

With close to 2 million active customers, 300 branches and 9000 employees, Hansabank is a leading financial institution in all three Baltic countries. The company was established in 1991, five years later it expanded successfully to Latvia, and three more years later to Lithuania. Since 2002, Hansabank has also been present in Russian market.

As of 2005, Hansabank is a fully-owned subsidiary of Swedbank Group. The Group shares common vision, mission and core values. Its joint vision is to create leading financial institution in the Nordic and Baltic region. Therefore, we are aiming for the highest customer satisfaction, biggest profitability and attractiveness as an employer in each geographic market.

Hansabank Group is the largest financial institution in the Baltic countries with total assets exceeding EUR 25.9 billion and shareholders equity over EUR 1.99 billion based on the March 2008 results).

Our value proposition to the customer

As a universal bank our business model is based on a large customer base. New customer acquisition and retention is a key for us. Our main focus is on medium-sized companies and private individuals with above the average purchasing power, however, we serve all customer groups.
