Swedbank apologizes for technical disturbances which have affected clients


The technical disturbances which shut down the power supply for Swedbank and the savings banks on Tuesday were fully repaired at noon on Wednesday. The Internet bank, the telephone bank and the external web sites in Sweden were down during parts of Tuesday afternoon and the whole of Tuesday evening. Some card clients were affected as well. Swedbank apologizes for the disturbances and will thoroughly investigate the incident.

The majority of the technical disturbances were repaired during Tuesday night. At noon on Wednesday all disturbances were repaired.

Clients that have been affected by the disturbances and who need help can contact their nearest Swedbank or savings banks branch office.

- We apologize for the inconvenience and will thoroughly investigate what has happened. It is unacceptable that disturbances of this magnitude can occur and affect our clients to this extent, says Peter Borsos, Head of Communication for Swedbank in Sweden.
