CEO and the Group Executive Committee

The President and CEO is responsible for managing Swedbank’s day-to-day operations in accordance with external regulations and within the framework set by the Board of Directors. The CEO represents the bank externally on various matters, leads the work of the Group Executive Committee (GEC) and makes decisions after consulting GEC's members.

The Group Executive Committee

The Group Executive Committee (GEC) consists of:

  • Swedbank’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
  • Deputy President and Deputy CEO
  • Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
  • Chief Risk Officer (CRO)
  • Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)
  • Chief Credit Officer
  • Head of HR and Facility Management
  • Head of Baltic Banking
  • Head of Corporates and Institutions
  • Head of Swedish Banking
  • Head of Premium and Private Banking 
  • Head of Group Business Support and Subsidiaries
  • Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Head of Group Technology and Data 
  • Head of Group Brand and Communication 
  • Head of Group Legal

To increase the Group's focus on diversity, equity and inclusion, the Group Executive Committee also includes a Chief Diversity Officer function, which rotates within the Committee for two years.

The Group Executive Committee normally meets once a week.

Senior Management Forum

The CEO also has a Senior Management Forum (SMF), a broader discussion forum for the implementation and coordination of strategically important issues in the Group which includes higher-level managers across business areas and Group Functions.
