2019 GEI companies disclose higher levels of female representation at the executive level, in addition to providing best-in-class policies and benefits to support gender equality

Swedbank in a good position in terms of gender equality according to Equileap
Swedbank is on the third place in Sweden and on 66th place in the ranking “Gender Equality Global Report & Ranking 2019”
The report, compiled by Equileap for the third year in a row, has ranked 3,519 public companies in 23 I-countries based on 19 criteria, such as gender balance in the workforce, top management and board, pay gap, parental leave and sexual harassment.

Swedbank tops Nordic region’s largest sustainability study 

Swedbank was again named the most sustainable bank in the Sustainable Brand Index Business to Business, based on a survey of decision makers in Sweden’s largest companies.

Equal Pay Employer

Swedbank in Latvia received an award for the country’s most equal pay, based on the results of Fonte’s annual national survey.

Green Banking Awards

Swedbank was named the best green bank in Sweden by Capital Finance International.

Swedbank Robur awarded as the sustainable actor of the year

Swedbank Robur has received the award “the sustainable actor of the year”. The award is based on the results from a report from Söderberg & Partners containing analysis of the entire Swedish savings market. Swedbank Robur gets the prize for its long-term and goal-oriented work with ownership and sustainability issues.

Swedbank Robur was named Fund manager of the Year in 2018 

By Sweden’s largest fund marketplace,, for high returns and integrating sustainability in its investments as well as for launching new sustainability focused products.

National Responsible Business Awards in Lithuania 

Swedbank was recognised as Lithuania’s most socially responsible company for major efforts in financial education, promoting volunteerism and building an open and sustainable society in Lithuania.

Swedbank in Latvia received an award in the platinum category.

Swedbank is ranked ninth in a ranking of the world's 200 best companies in the field of gender equality. Swedbank is also ranked as the third bank in the world with best gender equality.

Climetrics Climate Impact Rating

Swedbank Robur was named the world’s leading fund manager regarding climate smart fund management in Climetrics’ climate rating based on data from CDP.

Responsible Business Awards

Swedbank received the highest award, gold, from the Responsible Business Forum in Estonia.

Swedbank was ranked as number 32 out of 47 on Allbright's green list of the most equally run companies on the Stockholm Stock 2018.

The 125 most powerful women in Swedish business sector's by VA

Birgitte Bonnesen is in second place in the category Managing Directors of listed companies. She has, together with the board, set requirements and pursued the issue concerning gender equality for several years.

Liza Jonson is in second place in the category Directors. She leads Sweden's largest fund company and will create value for four million fund investors and at the same time build up the company's sustainability commitment.

Swedbank tops Nordic region’s largest sustainability study

Swedbank was named the most sustainable bank in the Sustainable Brand Index B2B Study, based on responses from decision makers in Sweden’s largest companies.

Anna’s Gender Equality Prize

The award is presented annually in Sweden to a person, company, club, project or work group in the banking and finance industry for efforts to promote gender equality and diversity. This year the prize was given to Swedbank.  

Dow Jones Sustainability Index

The index is one of the most prestigious sustainability rankings for global investors, with a limit for inclusion of 85. Swedbank raised its score significantly, from 77 to 84, surpassing our own goal of 80.


Swedbank won the National Government Employee Pensions Board (SPV) award for Sweden’s best pension information, for the campaign “First Pension Aid” and the collaboration with KIT.

National Responsible Business Awards in Lithuania

Swedbank Latvia was named the country’s most socially engaged company and the one that takes the most social responsibility.

Swedbank won the Best Bank Award in 2017.

Human Development Awards

Swedbank in Latvia won this national award for outstanding contributions to Latvia’s educational system.

Gold Label of Responsible Business

Swedbank in Estonia received the highest award for responsible business by the Responsible Business Forum.
