Why did you choose to apply for Swedbank's trainee program?
I chose Swedbank's trainee program because it offered a unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive insight into the bank's operations and how different departments work together to create value for our customers. In the financial industry, I didn't find a similar program that combines hands-on experience and unit rotation in the same way that Swedbank offered.
What did you get to do during the trainee program, and what was the setup like?
During the program, I worked on several interesting analysis projects in the different departments where the focus was on understanding the team's function and challenges. The trainee program spans over a 10-month period where you rotate between different departments, and during each rotation, you get to deepen your knowledge in the department's specific area and actively contribute to the team's projects and goals.
What would you say was the most fun thing about the program?
The most fun was the warm and welcoming culture within the bank! The colleagues in each department were not only helpful and knowledgeable, but also very open and inclusive, making it easy to ask questions and learn from their experiences.
What are you looking forward to in your future time at the bank?
I look forward to deepening my knowledge and contributing to the team's long-term goals and projects. Doing so by applying what I have learned from my rotations and tying together the different perspectives to create even greater value.
What is your advice for future trainees?
My main advice is to be curious and dare to ask questions – there is no better time to learn than during the trainee program. Benefit from the experience and expertise of your colleagues in each department.
