Swedbank Robur awarded as the sustainable actor of the year
Swedbank Robur has received the award “the sustainable actor of the year”. The award is based on the results from a report from Söderberg & Partners containing analyzes of the entire Swedish savings market. Swedbank Robur gets the prize for its long-term and goal-oriented work with ownership and sustainability issues.
Swedbank Robur is one of the pioneers in sustainability analysis in the mutual fund industry and has, as an active owner, for a long time worked to bring sustainability issues into corporate management as an active owner.
“We are very happy and proud of the award; we share the view that, as an asset manager, we have a great responsibility to make companies more sustainable. Our ambition is to be leading in responsible and sustainable investments and this award is really an encouragement”, says Liza Jonson, CEO of Swedbank Robur.
Awards are distributed in the categories: Life Insurance Company of the Year, Fund Management Company of the Year, Fund Insurance Company of the Year and Sustainable actor of the Year.
The motivation for the award:
Swedbank Robur understands the importance of "being big and strong, you must be also be nice". They affect companies to become better in sustainability, both by making their voice heard at general meetings and in the Board. Swedbank also conducts a distinctive work in nomination committees, which is deemed to have a great opportunity to make a difference.
Examples of Swedbank Robur’s work in 2017
- Swedbank Robur participated and voted in close proximity and voted in close to 340 general meetings, of which about 140 in foreign listed companies.
- In total, Swedbank Robur voted for approximately 73 percent of the funds' capital directly invested in shares.
- Swedbank Robur participated in 81 election committees, of which several in newly listed companies, where the funds invested as anchor investors.
- 14 funds received top marks in the first global rating of Climetrics climate impacts.
- Since October, five of Swedbank Robur's funds are among the world's first Nordic Ecolabelled funds.
- During the year, we contacted and held dialogue with more than 200 companies in sustainability issues, such as business ethics, climate, supplier issues, biodiversity, security and human rights.
