Swedbank Robur in top when Bloomberg lists Western Europe's best equity funds
According to Bloomberg, the Scandinavian funds increasing inflows differ from the negative European trend in general. This is partly explained by the stable recovery in the economy and the avoidance of the currency crisis linked to the euro. The Nordic region is considered a safe market, and investors are attracted to the managers' focus on small and medium-sized companies, which offer good growth opportunities. At the end of this year´s 2nd quarter (2018) Swedbank Robur had its sixth month in line with net inflows.
"I'm incredibly proud of the amazing results that Swedbank Robur's funds show. A positive result is a prerequisite to ensure our customers a continuously good return on their investments. We are a strong team and this is another good acknowledgement for Swedbank Robur's management and the professional job we do," said Liza Jonson, CEO Swedbank Robur.
Swedbank Robur Ny Teknik is ranked top 1 in Bloomberg´s compilation, and has during this year, reached a return of 31 percent. The focus of the fund is fast growing, small companies with profitable growth and with a focus on research, technology and development. Also Swedbank Robur Småbolagsfond Sverige was positioned amongst the top ten, and has this year, so far, a return of 14 percent. The fund invests mainly in shares in small and medium-sized companies in various sectors.
"If people are concerned about Europe, they look at the Nordic region as a safe region. Should the European stock market continue to be a bit unstable, the Nordic region can be a relative winner, as the Scandinavian companies in general have stronger balance sheets and very well-functioning corporate governance, said Carl Armfelt, Fund Manager Swedbank Robur Ny Teknik.
