Banks are society’s financial bloodstream. Many people rely on us so that capital, goods and services circulate as they should. With the help of banks, companies can grow, jobs are created and housing is financed. This carries great responsibility.
Swedbank has signed several international agreements, and is a member of and certified by various international organisations.

UN Global Compact
Swedbank signed the UN Global Compact in 2002.
UN Environmental Programme for the Financial Sector (UNEP-FI)
Swedbank is a member of the UN’s Programme for the Financial Sector.
UN Principles for Responsible Banking (PRB)
Swedbank was a Founding Signatory in 2019.

UN Principles for Responsible Investments (PRI)
Swedbank Robur signed up in 2009.
UN Women's Empowerment Principles (WEP)
In 2019, Swedbank signed the seven principles with the aim of adapting the financial sector to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
ICC Business Charter for Sustainable Development
Swedbank supports these guidelines and is a member of the CSR reference group.
UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
Swedbank bases its human rights work on these UN guiding principles.
Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)
In 2018, Swedbank became a signatory to the SBTi. Through this initiative, we have made a commitment to taking decisions on climate targets in line with the Paris Agreement.
Net-Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA)
Swedbank joined the Net-Zero Banking Alliance in May 2021.
