Swedbank participates - directly and indirectly - in several domestic and international bank industry associations, e.g. the Swedish Bankers’ Association, the Swedish Securities Dealers Association (SSDA), Insurance Sweden, the European Savings and Retail Banking Group (ESBG), the European Banking Federation (EBF) and the Institute for International Finance (IIF).

Regulatory development

Swedbank receives information about the regulatory development relevant for the bank from these organisations and contributes from time to time in the preparation of these organisations’ position papers, usually written as a reply to public consultations on draft legislation or draft regulation.

Reference groups and committees

From time to time, Swedbank employees also participate and contribute to the work in reference groups and committees set up by the authorities to have a dialogue with the banking industry regarding upcoming legislation. The bank’s participation in these kinds of groups is, in most cases, organised by one or more of the trade organisations in which Swedbank participates.

Direct dialogues regarding legalisation and regulation

The bank also from time to time participates in direct dialogues regarding upcoming legislation and regulation with the national government services, other public authorities and legislators in its home countries and at the EU level.

Swedbank does not knowingly support – financially or otherwise – political parties of any kind, directly or indirectly.
