Health, work environment and sustainable employees

We believe that having engaged and sustainable employees is essential for our business, as it supports us in delivering a good customer experience. We want our employees to feel good and comfortable in their workplace by offering a work environment that is safe, developing, creates conditions for good performance and long-term relationships, both internally and externally. Sustainable employees provide sustainable customer relationships which in turn create a sustainable result for the bank.

To achieve this, we have implemented a well-functioning governance model that ensures the necessary conditions for our employees to maintain or enhance their mental, social, and physical wellbeing at work, while effectively managing work-related health risks.

Swedbank provides an inclusive and inspiring physical work environment, encourages our teams in having an open and inclusive working climate, and supports our employees in committing to a healthy work-life balance.

Sustainable employees

Sustainable employees mean that our employees feel that they can confidently manage their work situation, they have a work-life balance that suits them, and experience the working climate as supportive, respectful and inclusive, every day at work. Additionally, it means that the employees’ working days allow for cognitive recovery, movement and variation. In our experience, sustainable employees not only cultivate sustainable customer relationships but also contribute to better business outcomes and increased profitability. An open and supportive working climate combined with a positive work environment promotes these sustainable relationships, ultimately leading to sustainable results for the bank.

Swedbank at work – the Group wide workplace concept

"Swedbank at Work" is our Group-wide workplace concept that ensures the design of our offices effectively enables us to serve customers in the best possible way, while also providing the necessary conditions for having sustainable employees. This approach involves detailing how the design of our physical work environments caters for various needs, thereby supporting a caring, accessible, and inclusive environment with the prerequisites of a good psychosocial work environment.

Key elements include accessibility, inclusivity, privacy, confidentiality, ergonomic design, adherence to digital standards and security protocols.

Workplace sharing is crucial for environmental and financial sustainability through providing space efficiency and making sure to have the amount of office space we need – not more or less.

Through "Swedbank at Work," we are creating an open, flexible, and inspiring workplace that fosters innovation by supporting focus, collaboration, well-being, and recovery throughout the workday. It empowers employees to be creative, share knowledge and experiences, and develop both individually and within teams—all aimed at delivering exceptional service to our customers. "Swedbank at Work" applies to all employees within Swedbank and support our aim to be an attractive employer capable of adapting to evolving trends and changing customer behaviours.

Accessible workplace

Swedbank aim to be an accessible workplace with a work environment that is designed so that all employees, regardless of ability, disability, or personal circumstance, can participate, work effectively, and feel included. For us as a bank, accessibility is especially important because we serve a wide range of customers and rely on teamwork, communication, and trust. Accessibility ensures that both employees as well as customers can use the bank’s services without barriers.
